- Comic Status: Updates Will Begin Again
Wow, 10 months without an update. For quite some time now I've wanted to update the comic again and I'd been looking into ways to do that. Until the end of last year that was impossible because school work kept piling up more and more to the point where my final term was ONLY a game. We had plans to publish it, that's how much work we were doing. However I'm not sure what's going on there now, discussions on that front have ceased altogether. I sure could use the money.
So what have I been doing since? Looking for work, and largely being unsuccessful. I've had plenty of "free time" but not a whole lot of it was useful. Just goes to show that time unstructured is worthless. So I've defined a schedule for myself, including a block of time for the comic as well, and updates should be forth coming. It's been annoying me for quite a while now that I haven't continued the comic, but at the same time a part of me felt that doing so would damage my art. Reinforcing flaws by repeating them makes them harder to correct you see, and I'd rather not have good looking anthro characters and shitty looking human ones (human faces in particular are a weak point for me, as are feet). But I've gotten a little practice at least, and with the addition of a CycloDS plus the wonderful Colors! art homebrew program, I'm more able to practice when I'm out and about. I've been evaluating whether drawing comic panels on my DS would be a good idea or not, but it seems like just another step when I could draw straight on my computer with my tablet.
I'm not certain about an update schedule for the comic. I think in that respect I'll still play it by ear and updates will occur "whenever," but I'll try to do at least one a week. To repeat myself before, this is more of a hobby for me (until I get paid to do it), and if I don't want to do it, I won't. A hard-set schedule for the comic won't make it enjoyable for me, but at the same time I don't want several weeks to go by between updates. I resolve to work my fastest with my tablet to produce as many "half decent" comic pages as I can to improve my speed, and we'll see where we go from there. In the beginning I don't doubt it'll be 1 update a week, but in time who knows, I may actually work up to 3 or more.
Also I've managed to cobble together a little PHP addition to the Archives section so you can browse it without any of my Omake pages showing up. There's one or two which still made it through because they aren't titled "Omake" but I'll deal with those eventually.
